Metal Detecting Finds from around Tring
Metal Detecting is an established pastime that is responsible for finding many historical objects every year.
The Tring History Society is in contact with two local detectorists and has created a small display of their finds at the Local History Museum. The objects on display date from 1600 to 1900 and tell you a little something about our local history. The “Finds Display” will be changed regularly with new items included as and when they are found.
To share the experience of metal detecting with our visitors we have introduced a metal detecting pointer to our “Treasure Dig” in the museum. Now children (and adults too!) can enjoy the fascination of scanning the dig with a detector to unearth various interesting metal finds.
