________________________________________
TRING is a small market town lying beneath the Chiltern Hills. Its origins are very old, as it lies at the meeting of two ancient trading routes, the Icknield Way and Akeman Street. Its people carried on a rural way of life which changed little over the centuries, and yet events of international importance and industrialisation affected them and the fabric of the town.
TRING LOCAL HISTORY MUSEUM reflects all aspects of life in and around Tring from the earliest days until the recent past, and records events, objects and the people who lived there.
It is situated in the centre of the Town, easily reached with a car park adjacent.
There can’t be many small towns with TWO museums (our other one is the Zoological Museum); include them both in your visit.
