Interested in the history of Tring? . . . This is the place to start!

The Society was formed in 1994. The market town of Tring has always been linked to surrounding villages, Wigginton, Aldbury, Long Marston, Marsworth and Wilstone, which at one time were all within the same Parish of Tring.

All paid-up Members receive the Members’ Newsletter, containing information about the Society, and the speaker programme, not available elsewhere. It is also a journal of historic data in itself, as it documents research and the memories of local people on a regular basis.

If you would like to purchase publications from the Society, our list of available items is on the Publications page.

If you would like to find out more about Membership of the Society, an application form and how to join, go to the‘Membership page.

The Society, as well as establishing the Museum, is also concerned with encouraging and publicising the study of local history. It does this by having a Programme of Speakers which provides members with varied topics of historic interest, six times every year.  The talks are held in the Parish Hall.
